Description

Starting time

We recommend to start full day camel ride in Wadi Rum desert at 10 AM during summer and at 9 AM during winter. But if you want to start at other time – let us know, we are flexible about that.

Camel is one of the most important symbols of the Bedouin culture and life in the desert. It is also  a fascinating animal with unique character. They are often referred to “the Ships of the Desert” and they are the best way to immerse yourself into the old way of life. The pace & atmosphere of travelling by Camel is very different thantravelling by Jeep. If you really look for ecological way to explore Wadi Rum  then camel tour is the best option for you. Within a day or more in one of the most beautiful spots on earth, where you can enjoy sleeping under the stars or stay in a Bedouin camp and learn about the local culture, food and history of this region.

Schedule

The meeting point

We will wait for you in our office in the village of Rum. Enter through visitors center, get your ticket and come to the village. Follow your GPS and we will welcome you with a cup of local tea. Here we will relax and talk about what we are going to do for the day. You will get acquainted with your Bedouin guide and after finishing your drink, you get an instructions on how to mount and ride a camel.
After we depart Rum village a short ride will take us to Lawrence spring where we will take a break, drink some tea. If you want - you can climb to the natural spring and enjoy the spectacular view of Wadi Rum desert. We will ride our camels to reach Khazali canyon by the beautiful valley of Wadi Rum. Here you will see ancient inscriptions, a waterhole, Islamic drawings and writings, which date back thousands of years. Next stop is a little rock bridge, we will climb on it to see fantastic views over the valley below.

Lunchtime
We get to a quiet and shady place where we will prepare a Bedouin food for you. After finishing our traditional lunch, we will have some time to take a rest or walk around to explore the area. After the rest we will ride our camel to cross the little canyon to visit the Lawrence house with nice views of the valley.  We will continue our way to the big rock wall called Anfishiyyeh inscriptions where we will make a stop to see the inscriptions. Next stop is the red sand dune. Here at the dune we will take a break. You will climb the sand dune and enjoy running down before we will turn around and start going back to the village of Rum. We will end our camel ride at Wadi Rum village around the sunset time.
